James V. Kelly, C.P.M., CEO, JVKellyGroup, Inc.
James (Jim) Kelly is an innovative leader in supply chain management. With more than 20 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, Mr. Kelly has been successful using metrics to increase purchasing performance; process reengineering; contract negotiation and supplier management. Through Mr. Kelly’s leadership, JVKellyGroup has become a leading professional services firm specializing in developing and implementing innovative spend management solutions for its expansive list of Fortune 500 clients.
Before founding JVKellyGroup in 2002, Mr. Kelly was Managing Director of Global Purchasing Operations and eSourcing for Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for controlling a Corporate Purchasing global budget of EUR 49,000,000 and reduction of Corporate Purchasing’s year over year operating expenses, while increasing services to internal clients. Additionally, he managed the “e” procurement environment that annually delivered over 84,000 orders from 14,000 users with a purchasing volume of over EUR 1,000,000,000 on a global basis.
Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Kelly was a Team Leader in Sourcing and Strategic Relations at Deloitte and Touche Consulting Group and the Vice President of US Purchasing Operations at Citibank.
A recognized thought leader, Mr. Kelly is a featured speaker for organizations and events such as the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), the Conference Board and the CFO Sarbanes-Oxley Conference. He is also a C.P.M. instructor and former President of the National Association of Purchasing Management, New York (NAPM-NY).
In 2008, Mr. Kelly received the J.H. Leonard Award from NAPM-NY for significant efforts on behalf of the purchasing profession and for contributions to the growth, development, and professional stature of the association. Additionally, Mr. Kelly was named one of Supply and Demand Chain Executive magazine’s Pros to Know in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Mr. Kelly is very active in his community of Huntington, NY. His commitment led him to be elected the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce in 2005, where he served for four years. As a result of his work in rebuilding the financial stability of the Chamber, Mr. Kelly was named one of Long Island’s Top 50 most influential people in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
In 2009, Mr. Kelly was appointed to the Advisory Board for the School of Business for Adelphi University where he will assist the school in generating ideas for Adelphi’s curricular and co-curricular development, internships and research partnerships for the students.
Additionally, Mr. Kelly was named to the Board of Advisors for the Huntington Arts Council.
Mr. Kelly received his Bachelors degree from Manhattan College and is a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.).
William L. Heaton, Jr. – Chief Engagement Officer
Mr. Heaton is one of the founding principals of JVKellyGroup and has been with the firm since 2002. In his role as Chief Engagement Officer, Mr. Heaton is responsible for strategy and oversight of all of JVKellyGroup’s client engagements
Mr. Heaton has over thirty years experience in strategic sourcing, running the gamut from purchasing cost analysis, lead negotiator on major contracts, and senior management of large corporate purchasing organizations. Prior to JVKellyGroup, Mr. Heaton held positions as managing director at Deutsche Bank, where he had global purchasing responsibility for the bank’s private client division and UK purchasing operations, and vice president at Citibank with responsibilities including benchmarking, quality assurance and US purchasing operations. He also spent a number of years at NYNEX (now Verizon) as a purchasing cost analyst/negotiation specialist.
Mr. Heaton is a regular lecturer for the National Association of Purchasing Management New York and has been an adjunct professor of business at Long Island University and at SUNY Stony Brook. He also leads corporate seminars for JVKellyGroup on strategic sourcing topics of interest.
Mr. Heaton has a BBA in marketing from Pace University and an MBA in management from C.W. Post College. |
